Have you ever had a crush on someone you knew you could never be with? That’s the feeling Rainbow City Park captures in their new single What’s the Use? With the same lyrical introspection the band has become known for layered over pop-rock charged instrumentals, What’s the Use? acts as the perfect bridge to the band’s new sound. This song lands somewhere between Florence Road and Slow Pulp with instrumentals that could have come straight out of an early 2000’s romcom.

Lead singer Danielle Judith originally composed this song as an acoustic, singer-songwriter style project, but with contributions from the rest of the band, it was revised into its final, indie pop form. Describing a relationship that never-was, the gentle power of Judith’s voice leaves listeners wondering if the relationship was ever really doomed, or if perhaps what doomed them was the fact that they never tried at all.
